Work Model: Hybrid approximately 80% remote and 20% onsite, subject to agency policy. Candidate must be local, willing to commute, or willing to relocate. Candidate must be able to report onsite at least one day per week.

The Department of Children and Families relies on core, mission-critical applications including CTKIND and IV-E, Connecticut s federally reimbursed CCWIS platform. These systems are used by more than 2,000 social workers and case managers and are continuously enhanced to support child welfare case practice, State and Federal legislation, data capture, process functionality, and reporting requirements.
The Department of Administrative Services Bureau of Information Technology Solutions (DAS-BITS) provides technology services, expertise, and information systems infrastructure for DCF and its approximately 3,300 employees. DAS-BITS supports the agency by delivering reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality technology services.
Scope of WorkWe are seeking a mid- to senior-level BI / Tableau Administrator to support enterprise reporting and analytics platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for Tableau Cloud administration, incident management, troubleshooting, user support, platform monitoring, and ensuring the reliability of business-critical reporting services.
The candidate will administer Tableau Cloud sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, and security across Development, Test, and Production environments. The role will also support and troubleshoot Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Salesforce data integrations, and Mule Soft Runtime Fabric environments that impact reporting platforms.
ResponsibilitiesThe BI / Tableau Administrator will be responsible for the following:
- Administer Tableau Cloud sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, and security.
- Monitor Tableau platform health, extract refreshes, subscriptions, and scheduled jobs.
- Troubleshoot Tableau performance, connectivity, reporting, and access issues.
- Support report developers, analysts, and business users.
- Deploy and promote reports across Development, Test, and Production environments.
- Support and troubleshoot Azure SQL Database environments used for enterprise reporting.
- Investigate reporting data issues and perform data validation activities.
- Monitor database connectivity, query performance, and data refresh processes.
- Assist with SQL and SOQL troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Monitor and support Azure Data Factory pipelines that load Salesforce and other source-system data into Azure SQL Database.
- Troubleshoot data load failures, integration issues, and data quality problems.
- Identify root causes of reporting, data, and integration issues.
- Collaborate with development, database, reporting, and integration teams during incident resolution and deployments.
- Support Mule Soft Runtime Fabric environments and integrations that impact reporting platforms.
- Work across all phases of the SDLC.
- Create and maintain required technical documentation.
- Work with the Salesforce Architect to establish and follow best practices.
- Provide input to management on design decisions, architecture decisions, work estimation, and resource planning.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to team members.
The candidate must have at least 5 years of professional experience demonstrating the following:
- Tableau Cloud administration and support.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.
- Experience with dashboards, reporting environments, and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience working with Azure SQL Database or similar relational databases.
- Experience with Salesforce objects, fields, relationships, and the impact of design decisions.
- Ability to apply Salesforce and reporting platform best practices.
- Experience with user management, including new user setup, user deactivation, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and related administrative tasks.
- Experience troubleshooting user access, declarative logic, business requests, environment management, and backup-related issues.
- Ability to engage with and escalate issues to Salesforce support when required.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive work from requirements through implementation.
- Strong organization, proactivity, and self-direction.
- Strong abstract thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
