Position SummaryWe are hiring a Sr. Data Scientist for multiple positions in Hartford, CT at Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company. The role focuses on applying mathematical and computational modeling methods for data extraction, manipulation, and predictive modeling across various health data sources. Key responsibilities include designing data solutions, developing advanced algorithms, delivering predictive insights, and supporting deployment across multiple channels.
Responsibilities- Design and develop data solutions using leading tools, technologies, and best practices to profile data and create efficient ingestion pipelines from PBM, Specialty, Retail, and Health Care sources.
- Develop advanced algorithms and predictive models to evaluate scenarios and provide actionable insights on health metrics and future outcomes.
- Extract, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources to inform solutions for pharmacy pricing, medical costs, risk scores, onboarding, and customer engagement.
- Support the deployment of insights across multiple channels and collaborate on mathematical analysis, machine learning, and statistical analyses.
- Utilize strong programming skills in R, Octave, Python, Matlab, SAS, or SPSS to explore, analyze, and interpret data.
- Telecommuting is available.
- Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience or completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in each of the following areas:
- Big Data, Smart (Semantic) Data, data modeling, and data visualization.
- Development of subroutines, codes, and scripts.
- Exploratory data analysis, including preprocessing, cleaning, and preliminary examination.
- Descriptive analytics concepts such as sampling and statistical inference.
- Predictive analysis techniques including regression, forecasting, and simulations.
- Visualization and graphical representation of data.
- Quantitative decision‑making using data from multiple sources.
- Machine learning including algorithm development, data mining, pattern recognition, and supervised/unsupervised learning.
- Programming proficiency in R, Octave, Python, Matlab, SAS, or SPSS.
Base annual salary: $ – $ per year. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program, and an equity award program.
