Position: Business Analyst / Hartford, CT  (Hybrid)8+ Months Contract - Part time

Business Analyst / B23 Coordinator

This is a part-time position at office, 25 hours per week, 2 days ation:
Hartford, CT. Duration: 8 months contract.

A bachelor's degree in business, IT, computer science, or a related field is standard. Skills include Agile, business analysis, data analysis, Jira, Microsoft Excel, proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing, solid experience in writing SQL queries, and basic knowledge in generating process documentation.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Gather business requirements from users and translate into functional and technical specifications
  • Document business processes and provide best practices recommendations
  • Work as a liaison between the business and IT (QA, test, developers)
  • Translate business needs into effective requirements statements
  • Assess the business impact of requested and ongoing systems improvements
  • Participate on project teams to ensure that implementation satisfies the business need and maximizes process and system integration
  • Participate in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement process and system improvements
  • Work with stakeholders to identify improvements and assess their relative priority
  • Determine the appropriate course of action for new requests: immediate resolution through existing functionality, support request for quick implementation, or as part of a larger project
  • Utilize experience in business processes for IT systems; business case development; requirements gathering; gap analysis; process mapping; solution design; and support
  • Actively manage customer expectations and communicate status of pending projects
  • Track backlog of requests and work with customer to incorporate these into subsequent projects based on priority

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years experience as business analyst focused on enterprise applications and IT systems
  • Business process expertise desired in the areas of Accounting and Billing, Finance/Controlling, HR/Benefits/Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Quality Assurance, Legal/Regulatory
  • Experience in business case development, requirements gathering and definition, gap analysis, process mapping, solution design
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proven success as a business analyst, with demonstrated ability to facilitate discussion and build consensus
  • Ability to produce quality requirements documents, process maps, use case diagrams. Ability to use various tools such as Visio and PowerPoint to graphically represent work flow diagrams, process flow and other information gathered.
