Open Shift Container Platform
As a Red Hat Open Shift Engineer, you are responsible for the configuration, management, maintenance, and support of the Customers Red Hat Open Shift environment. This includes managing and deploying applications, ensuring optimal performance and uptime, and providing support and guidance to development teams on container and Kubernetes best practices.
ResponsibilitiesSystem Configuration & Management:
Configure, deploy, and manage the Red Hat Open Shift platform. Develop scripts for the automated deployment and management of resources.
Application Deployment & Management:Manage application deployments on the Open Shift platform, working closely with development teams to implement Docker and Kubernetes if required.
Performance Monitoring & OptimizationMonitor the performance of the Open Shift platform and applications, using both command-line and GUI tools. Optimize performance and resource utilization based on monitoring data.
Troubleshooting & SupportProvide support to development and operations teams in the use of Open Shift. Troubleshoot issues and implement fixes in coordination with these teams.
Security & ComplianceImplement and monitor security controls to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the Open Shift environment. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Documentation & ReportingDocument all configurations, procedures, and changes. Prepare regular reports on system performance, availability, and compliance.
Training & MentoringTrain and mentor other IT staff and developers in the use of Open Shift, Docker, and Kubernetes.
RequirementsEducation:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift Administration are highly desirable.
Experience:
At least 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years of experience in managing Open Shift environments. Experience in working with Docker and Kubernetes is essential.
Technical
Skills:
Strong understanding of Open Shift, Docker, and Kubernetes. Familiarity with Linux system administration, shell scripting, networking, and security. Proficiency in a programming language, such as Python or Java, is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
