We are seeking an experienced Lead Consultant with strong expertise in Analytics, SQL Server, and actuarial reporting to support the modernization of reporting processes within a Segment Data Warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and development teams to analyze existing actuarial reports, document requirements, and guide the transition from legacy Excel and SQL-based reporting solutions to scalable enterprise data warehouse solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze existing actuarial reports and measures, primarily developed using Excel and SQL.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand report logic, calculations, and data dependencies.
- Translate business and actuarial reporting requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
- Provide clarification on complex calculations, methodologies, and underlying data structures.
- Develop business requirements documentation, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria when required.
- Support and guide developers in implementing reporting solutions within the Segment Data Warehouse.
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing to validate that newly developed reports and metrics meet business requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- 10+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Reporting, or Business Analysis.
- Strong expertise in SQL and SQL Server-based analytics solutions.
- Experience analyzing and documenting complex reporting processes and business calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business users and technical teams.
- Experience creating requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands‑on experience performing QA and validation testing.
- Experience in the Insurance or Reinsurance industry.
- Knowledge of actuarial reserving and actuarial reporting processes.
- Experience with Excel-based reporting solutions and report migration initiatives.
- VBA development experience.
- Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse environments and reporting modernization projects.
