Lead IT Engineer – Microsoft
365, Azure & AI Productivity Platforms

The Lead Engineer shapes the future by provisioning, managing, and securing M365 tenants and Azure identity stack, and by designing AI productivity solutions such as Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini Enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, govern, and operate M365 tenants
  • Create and maintain ownership of tenant administration, backup and disaster recovery, and policy management
  • Lead Azure identity architecture, including PIM, RBAC, Conditional Access, and hybrid identity
  • Manage Microsoft licensing lifecycle, vendor coordination, forecasting, true‑ups, and enterprise agreement alignment
  • Design and deploy AI productivity platforms (Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini Enterprise), including multi‑environment releases and connector integration
  • Direct complex integration engineering efforts and support enterprise change‑management programs
  • Collaborate with Info Sec on security posture, compliance, DLP, and incident resolution for high‑impact production issues
  • Mentor engineers, partner cross‑functionally, negotiate with vendors, and deliver enterprise‑grade solutions

  • AI Platform Architecture – Microsoft Copilot (Copilot Studio, agents, connectors) and/or Google Cloud Platform (Gemini Enterprise, SCIM, VertexAI)
  • Microsoft Licensing & Procurement – Enterprise Agreement, SCE, true‑ups, Microsoft invoicing, vendor coordination
  • Azure Billing & Cost Management – Azure Cost Management, Coupa/ERP integration, PO mapping, budgeting
  • Power Shell & Automation – scripting, Microsoft Graph API, AzureCLI, IaC for tenant config
  • Enterprise Integration – Service Now connectors, Graph connectors, OAuth/SAML, MCP, Zscaler/SASE, CDN integration
  • Information Security – DLP, conditional access, application registration review, least‑privilege access
  • Change Management – enterprise change assessment, cross‑functional impact analysis, DCR submission
  • Incident Management – triage production incidents, vendor escalations, critical service restoration
  • Vendor Management & Negotiation – partnership with Microsoft, SHI, Google, and other vendors
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Security, Procurement, Finance, business units
  • Technical Communication – documentation (TDDs, runbooks), presentations to leadership
  • Mentorship – guide engineers on technical topics and best practices
  • Strategic Thinking – independent execution, prioritize competing demands, multi‑quarter initiatives
  • Incident Leadership – technical escalation point and guidance during high‑pressure incidents
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years enterprise IT experience, 5+ years Microsoft
    365 and Azure administration at a global or near‑global level
  • Microsoft certifications preferred: M365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Identity & Access Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate
  • Google Cloud certifications preferred:
    Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, Workspace Administrator
  • ITIL Foundation or other service‑management certification preferred
Work Arrangement

Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) in one of the following offices:
Columbus, OH;
Chicago, IL;
Hartford, CT; or Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $128,800–$193,200 (actual base may vary). Total compensation includes potential bonuses, long‑term incentives, and spot recognition.
