Digital Media Accessibility & Operations Specialist (Information Technology Analyst

Location:
Hartford, CT. Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, first shift, hybrid role. Reports to IT Delivery Manager.
The specialist maintains and enhances the CT Paid Leave website, ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards for all content. Responsibilities include validating Sitecore components, performing pre‑ and post‑release testing, developing accessibility compliance processes, collaborating with external partners, coaching staff, maintaining IT documentation, and leveraging analytics to improve the digital experience.

- Maintain and update the CT Paid Leave website using Sitecore custom components.
- Validate accessibility, functionality, and compliance of new Sitecore components prior to release; perform smoke testing after production releases.
- Support the IT Solutions Manager in developing and implementing accessibility compliance processes.
- Collaborate with external partners to identify documentation needs and lead the effort to update knowledge articles, help documents, and playbooks.
- Coach and train staff of all levels on accessibility remediation for videos, documents, and PDFs.
- Conduct accessibility testing of digital content updates and provide guidance on how to resolve issues where content is not in compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Perform accessibility and functionality testing of website programming updates before approval for release.
- Conduct post‑release validation, capture, and report on any issues encountered.
- Assist the IT Solutions Manager in maintaining IT team processes and procedure documentation in Atlassian.
- Enforce digital standards such as accessibility, usability, and branding.
- Maintain IT documentation and leverage analytics tools and tag management to identify opportunities for improving the digital experience.
- Six (6) years of experience in information technology operations, programming, systems/software development, or another IT‑related support area.
- One (1) year of this experience must include professional IT work in installing and supporting microcomputer hardware, software, and operating systems; analysis, design, and development of information systems; network hardware and software installation and support; and related problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Experience performing systems analysis and design for business applications on cloud platforms such as Sitecore, Salesforce, Atlassian, and Azure.
- Experience developing or maintaining applications using structured development tools and practices (e.g., version control, code testing).
- Experience working with content management systems (e.g., Sitecore) and developing web pages using front‑end languages such as HTML and CSS.
- Experience with digital media accessibility remediation and knowledge of WCAG guidelines.
- Experience creating reports and metrics in Google Analytics 4 and configuring tags in Google Tag Manager.
- Experience producing training and technical documentation to communicate information to diverse audiences and train peers and senior leaders on tools and processes.
