As an Analytics Intern, you will apply data and analytical thinking to solve real business challenges. You’ll work at the intersection of business and technology—using data to uncover insights, influence decisions, and drive measurable outcomes across the organization.
This role is a hybrid position in Hartford, CT.

- Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, or experimentation (e.g., A/B testing)
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders across functions such as underwriting, claims, finance, or operations to solve real‑world business challenges
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity, accelerate analysis, and generate insights
- Explore how AI and automation can improve decision‑making and operational efficiency
- Present insights and recommendations to business partners and leadership
- Undergraduate or graduate students expecting to graduate in May
2028 with a bachelor's or master's degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights to support business decisions
- Commitment to ethical decision‑making and responsible use of data
- Majors:
Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Informatics, Statistics, or other STEM‑related and/or analytical majors - Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)
- Exposure to statistics, regression analysis, or experimentation (A/B testing)
- Experience with data wrangling and data preparation techniques
- Familiarity with business intelligence concepts such as KPIs and dashboards
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) and interest in applying them to analytics use cases
The internship program is designed as a pipeline for future full‑time opportunities. High‑performing interns may be considered for full‑time roles within The Hartford’s Technology & Data organization.
CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
