About the Opportunity
The Client is seeking a Digital Accessibility Tester to support its Digital Government initiative. This role focuses on manual accessibility testing of websites, web applications, enterprise platforms, mobile applications, digital documents, forms, CMS platforms, and other digital assets to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, manual accessibility testing, assistive technologies, and collaborating with development teams to remediate accessibility issues.
Important:
This is a testing-heavy role. Manual accessibility testing of digital assets is the primary responsibility of this position. Candidates with primarily automation QA or accessibility consulting experience and limited hands-on manual testing may not be a strong fit.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual accessibility testing on websites, web applications, mobile applications, digital documents, forms, enterprise platforms, chatbots, and authenticated systems.
- Conduct accessibility audits and identify WCAG compliance issues.
- Develop and maintain accessibility test cases and testing libraries.
- Document accessibility findings and provide detailed remediation recommendations.
- Work closely with developers, engineers, content authors, and stakeholders to resolve accessibility issues.
- Validate remediation efforts through regression testing.
- Maintain accessibility testing standards, documentation, and reporting.
- Track accessibility issues and provide compliance metrics.
- Evaluate third-party vendor products for accessibility compliance.
- Stay current with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on Digital Accessibility Testing experience.
- Experience performing manual accessibility testing.
- Strong knowledge of:
- WCAG 2.1/2.2
- ADA
- Section 508
- Experience using assistive technologies including:
- NVDA
- JAWS
- Voice Over
- Talk Back
- Dragon Naturally Speaking
- Zoom Text
- Fusion
