AWS Cloud Engineer – Kubernetes/EKS Specialist Share Contractual Hartford, CT | Morristown, NJ
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-native infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with container orchestration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Architecture:
Architect and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes clusters on AWS using EKS. Collaborate with development and operations teams to design cloud-native applications and microservices. - Deployment & Automation:
Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, or AWS CDK. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline. - Operations & Monitoring:
Monitor and troubleshoot EKS clusters and workloads using Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch, and ELK stack. Implement logging, alerting, and observability best practices. - Security & Compliance:
Apply security best practices for Kubernetes workloads, including IAM roles, RBAC, network policies, and secrets management. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, ISO).
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
- Cloud Expertise: 8-10 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) Strong understanding of cloud networking, security groups, and load balancing.
- Kubernetes & EKS:
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, components, and operations. Experience deploying and managing EKS clusters in production environments. - Dev Ops & Automation:
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Cloud Formation. Experience with containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration. - Monitoring & Logging:
Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ELK, and AWS Cloud Watch. - Programming & Scripting:
Mandatory Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go) for automation and tooling. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Dev Ops Engineer. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and Git Ops tools (ArgoCD, Flux). Familiarity with Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators.
