Job Description

The Director, Enterprise Intelligence and Decision Support provides strategic leadership for Connecticut Children's enterprise intelligence, decision support, business intelligence, and data engineering functions, delivering trusted enterprise data and analytics capabilities that enable clinical, operational, financial, and executive leaders to make informed, data-driven decisions. The Director establishes an enterprise-facing business intelligence and decision support program that delivers actionable intelligence, supports organizational performance improvement, and helps leaders effectively interpret and apply data in strategic, operational, financial, and clinical decision-making.

The Director sets the enterprise vision, strategy, governance, and operating model for the enterprise intelligence and decision support function. The Director serves as a strategic partner to the Enterprise Performance Office, executive leadership, Information Solutions (IT), and clinical, operational, financial, and quality leaders to align enterprise intelligence and decision support capabilities with organizational priorities. Through these partnerships, the Director advances performance improvement, supports organizational transformation, and enables Connecticut Children's vision of becoming a data-informed organization where trusted information improves patient care, operational excellence, financial stewardship, and organizational performance.

The Director is accountable for the strategic, operational, financial, technical, and human resource management of the Enterprise Intelligence and Decision Support organization.

Responsibilities Business Intelligence & Decision Support-30%
  • Establish and lead an enterprise Business Intelligence and Decision Support program that provides actionable, timely, trusted, and visually compelling information to clinical, operational, financial, and executive leaders.
  • Direct a team of Business Intelligence Analysts who serve as strategic partners to clinical and business operations, translating organizational priorities into dashboards, scorecards, performance measures, and decision support solutions.
  • Ensure Business Intelligence resources are aligned with organizational priorities through a structured intake, prioritization, and governance process for reporting and decision support initiatives.
  • Partner with data stewards and physician, nursing, operational, finance, quality, and administrative leadership to define key performance indicators, performance targets, and enterprise metrics.
  • Foster a consultative decision support model in which analysts proactively support leaders in identifying opportunities to improve quality, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish enterprise standards and best practices for dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data visualizations, promoting standardized metrics and a single source of truth across the organization.
  • Promote adoption of standardized reporting, self-service business intelligence, and data literacy throughout Connecticut Children's.
  • Provide strategic leadership for enterprise education, training, and adoption initiatives, partnering with clinical and business leaders to develop role-based training programs that improve data literacy and increase organizational adoption of decision support capabilities.
Data Engineering & Integration-30%
  • Provide executive leadership for the Enterprise Data Engineering organization, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse, enterprise data integration platforms, Epic Cogito reporting environment, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise data strategy to enable scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing decision support capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring it supports enterprise reporting, decision support, clinical quality, finance, population health, research, and strategic initiatives.
  • Direct enterprise data integration initiatives, including ETL/ELT development, APIs, interoperability solutions, data pipelines, and integration of Epic and non-Epic data sources into a unified enterprise information platform.
  • Provide oversight of Connecticut Children's Epic Cogito ecosystem, including Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and Slicer Dicer, ensuring alignment with enterprise reporting, regulatory, operational, financial,…
