The Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) is currently accepting applications for an Insurance Actuary role within the Actuarial Insurance Division with the Life and Health (L/H) actuaries. This position is for the L/H financial solvency regulations and Health product rate filings.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Full Time, 40 hours per week
  • Location:

    153 Market Street in Downtown Hartford, easily accessible for all commuters.
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

DISCOVER THE OPPORTUNITY TO
  • Conduct analytical studies of insurance and health care center rate filings, rating plans, and various special programs (such as experience rating, retrospective rating, and participating programs) and recommend action
  • Conduct and review periodical examinations of rating organizations
  • May review an insurer's loss experience
  • Review rates, rating plans, and self-insurance program
  • Provide consulting service with respect to the approval or disapproval of requests made by insurance companies and rating organizations for changes in rates and rating plans
  • Initiate recommendations with respect to improvements in rating plans and techniques
  • Participate in Department hearings in connection with appeals of insureds regarding classifications and other rating matters
  • Review insurance and health care reserves, including cash flow testing of liabilities and asset adequacy testing
