The State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch, Superior Court Operations Division is seeking individuals to serve as Court Interpreter I. Responsibilities include performing simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation from English into Spanish or Portuguese and reverse in a variety of court proceedings, hearings, attorney/client conferences, pre‑arraignment communications and related matters in person and by remote devices. The interpreter also makes court announcements in Spanish or Portuguese as directed by the judge, maintains records of services provided, prepares activity reports, collects and enters data into automated recordkeeping systems, participates in study and training activities individually and in groups to develop and maintain interpreting and translating skills, assists defendants in completing court‑related forms, drafts translations of forms and documents, and performs related duties as required.
Qualifications& Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to perform simultaneous, consecutive and sight interpreting and written language proficiency in the target language.
- Required to travel in the course of daily work.

Salary range: $63,204 - $82,436 annually plus State of Connecticut benefits.
