Bankruptcy Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bankruptcy Paralegal to support our legal team. In this role, you will prepare bankruptcy-related legal documents—including petitions, schedules, pleadings, and affidavits—conduct legal research, and manage case files to ensure information is accurate, organized, and readily accessible. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal looking to grow and advance their career in bankruptcy law.

Compensation

$55,000 – $75,000 yearly

Responsibilities
  • Conduct client interviews to gather financial and legal information related to bankruptcy matters

  • Prepare and file bankruptcy documents, including petitions, schedules, statements, pleadings, and correspondence

  • Assist attorneys with hearing preparation by organizing documentation, conducting research, preparing clients, and filing pleadings through Turbo Court and other court systems as required

  • Maintain regular contact with clients through phone calls, Zoom meetings, and in-person consultations

  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, organizing client binders, and maintaining accurate and complete case files

  • Manage bankruptcy cases to ensure all deadlines are met, including tracking key dates and preparing monthly or bi-monthly case summaries

  • Communicate with courts, trustees, creditors, and other parties as needed

Qualifications
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a law firm under an attorney, with direct bankruptcy experience preferred

  • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures, filing systems, and deadlines
