Job SummaryPerforms general preventive maintenance and repair of various facilities areas and supports related electrical needs as assigned.
Responsibilities- Completes work orders, documents information on completed work, and maintains records for regulatory agencies.
- Uses materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and other projects.
- Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control).
- Performs minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets, and flush valves.
- Performs decorative application to walls and ceilings, including scraping, sanding, filling holes, removing/replacing outlet and switch covers, masking, and applying paint or wall coverings per manufacturing specs.
- Uses Building Automation System (BAS) to identify HVAC issues and trains others on BAS operation.
- Knowledge of fire doors, fire and smoke walls and regulatory requirements related to them.
- Reviews projects and provides estimates for cost, supplies, materials, etc., to complete work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- 3 years general commercial building maintenance experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team; attentive to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow established safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Ability to operate woodworking equipment, machinery and hand tools.
- Understand blueprints, sketches, schematics and other building plan specifications.
