BD Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Mission Hires is conducting a confidential search for a Vice President / Director of Construction to lead and scale an established construction business unit across Connecticut and New York. This executive will provide strategic direction, oversee multiple large projects, manage a team of Project Managers, and drive growth in commercial construction while supporting select high-end residential work. The ideal candidate brings deep operational expertise, financial acumen, and a proven track record of delivering quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for construction operations across CT and NY
- Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of 6–7 Project Managers
- Own full project lifecycle management from preconstruction and budgeting through closeout and client handoff
- Develop and execute growth strategies to expand commercial market share; support select high-end residential projects
- Set and achieve annual business goals, financial targets, and operational KPIs with executive leadership
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships
- Ensure projects meet profitability targets, schedule milestones, and client expectations
- Oversee resource allocation, project forecasting, and workforce planning
- Represent the company professionally with clients, vendors, and community stakeholders
- 10+ years of progressive construction management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Strong background in commercial construction (e.g., restoration, interiors, retail, office, institutional, or light industrial); residential experience is a plus
- Proven success leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex, concurrent projects
- Expertise in construction operations, project controls, scheduling, and financial management
- Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing growth and operational improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Willingness to travel throughout Connecticut and New York as needed
- Commitment to safety, quality, client service, and ethical business practices
