Role DescriptionThe Plant Manager role is a part‑time, on‑site position based in Hartford, CT. The Plant Manager oversees daily plant operations, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and monitoring output to meet quality and safety standards. This role manages plant staff, assigns responsibilities, and supports training to maintain efficient and compliant manufacturing processes. The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring equipment is properly maintained, enforcing sanitation and safety protocols, and collaborating with leadership on operational improvements and resource planning.
The role also involves tracking key performance indicators, addressing issues that impact productivity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Candidates should possess skills in Plant Management and Operations Management, with experience overseeing staff and day‑to‑day facility performance.
- Candidates should possess skills in Plant Operations and Manufacturing Operations, including supervising production activities and maintaining equipment and safety standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in Production Planning, with the ability to schedule, prioritize, and coordinate workflows to meet demand and quality requirements.
- Experience in food manufacturing, meat packing, or a related industry is beneficial, including familiarity with USDA or relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Ability to work on‑site, manage physical aspects of plant oversight, and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within manufacturing or operations is preferred; relevant vocational or technical training is an advantage.
