The Brake Press Operator is responsible for operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a metal fabrication environment. This position will have experience with blueprints, precision measuring tools, and CNC or manual brake press equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operates brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components.

Produces simple to medium level of complexity of parts.

Coordinates with team on transporting finished parts.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machine settings and part specifications.

Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to maintain quality control.

Perform rework tasks as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment.

Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.

Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions or maintenance needs.

Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.

Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training:

Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in brake press operations.

Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
Must possess mechanical aptitude

Must possess basic ability in reading forming blueprints.

Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications

Prior experience with Cincinnati brake presses

Physical and Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move between work areas.

Regularly required to talk and listen, as well as climb, balance, and reach above shoulder level.

Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.

Working Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where loud noise exposure is regular and frequent.
