Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Toolmaker role based in the Greater Hartford area. The Toolmaker will build, repair, and maintain molds, tooling, and fixtures used in injection molding production, ensuring that equipment meets specifications and supports efficient operations. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, setting up and operating manual and CNC machines, performing precision machining and fitting, and conducting preventive maintenance on tools and molds.

The role also involves troubleshooting tooling issues on the production floor, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and documenting work performed to support quality and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in toolmaking, including precision machining, mold building, and use of manual and CNC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications for injection molding tools.
  • Experience with measurement and inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and tooling maintenance best practices.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and consistent, detail-oriented craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with production and engineering staff.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and respond to production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational education in toolmaking, machining, or a related field; prior experience as a Toolmaker or Mold Maker is preferred.
