The Director of Communications 1 will establish and lead a centralized communications function for the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC), reporting to the Commissioner and leadership teams. The role involves developing agency-wide communications strategies, producing high-quality content across multiple formats, ensuring plain language and accessibility, and managing communications during major initiatives and sensitive announcements. This position strengthens internal alignment and external transparency while supporting OEC's mission to serve over 200,000 young children, parents, and caregivers annually.
Keyqualifications:
- Experience in communications, public affairs, and content development
- Experience developing and editing materials for diverse audiences
- Experience translating complex policy, program, data, or operational content into plain language
- Experience producing communication materials across multiple formats including reports, digital content, newsletters, and presentations
- Experience supporting executive or leadership teams
