POSITION SCOPE
The Development Manager, Volunteer Engagement is a proactive and organized self-starter who is interested in helping a mission-driven nonprofit thrive and grow. To develop, recruit and implement an integrated volunteer program for the organization to include all services, in particular, all supportive housing projects and Chrysalis Center events. Attend community and civic organization events to recruit new volunteers, share in-kind donation needs and help further mission of the organization.
The Development Manager, Volunteer Engagement is a full-time position that reports directly to the Director of Development and Communications.
The Development Manager, Volunteer Engagement is responsible for creating, implementing, and sustaining a strong, engaging, and effective volunteer program.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Volunteer Program Development
:
Identify volunteer opportunities across the organization, recruit volunteers from diverse community groups, and design and deliver a comprehensive volunteer orientation process. - Act as the liaison
: between volunteers who potentially can sponsor or donate and the Development Team. - Volunteer Engagement
:
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a positive and rewarding volunteer experience. Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database and calendar. - Volunteer Appreciation
:
Provide ongoing recognition and appreciation for volunteers, including planning and executing an Annual Volunteer Recognition event. - Fundraising Support
:
Actively assist the Development Team with fundraising events and activities, particularly those requiring volunteer participation. - In-Kind Donations Management
:
Coordinate in-kind (non-financial) donations for programs and clients, maintaining ongoing communication with staff regarding needs and procedures.
This role is integral to fostering strong community connections and ensuring volunteers and donors feel valued and engaged. In addition, The Development Manager, Volunteer Engagement will be responsible for providing general administrative support for the Director of Development and Communications and collaborating to provide strategic opportunities for increased fundraising. Experience or willingness to seek out and cultivate relationships that lead to increased agency funding, a plus.
Strong interaction with the community and other Chrysalis Center departments including finance. In addition to being a positive team player, the candidate needs to be able to work independently, anticipate needs/challenges, problem solve, and have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
