About This Role

The Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff of the OR, ensuring high standards of patient care and managing staff performance and development.

• Location: Hartford, CT
• Facility: Hartford Hospital
• Department/Unit: OR CORE
• Schedule: Full Time, Day shift

• Assist in the overall management and coordination of the OR, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the maintenance of equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.
• Monitor and ensure high-quality patient care and safety in the OR.
• Address patient and family concerns, providing exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating OR staff both Nurses and CSTs.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree and/or appropriate certification required.

Experience:

• Minimum two years relevant clinical experience required.
• Experience leading employees preferred.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Strong communication skills required - both written and verbal.
