Location:

Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Work Shift:

Rotating days/evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Range – $24.50 – $33.75 per hour, based on experience.

About the Unit

Adult C Unit is a 26‑bed, structured therapeutic environment for adults who need crisis response, coping skills education, and goal setting to manage anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and suicidal behaviors.

Role Overview

Role Overview – The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, physician, or other qualified health‑care provider to organize and direct care responsibilities and coordinate with the rest of the health‑care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collects and documents data, and conducts focused nursing assessments of patient health status.
  • Partners with health‑care providers in developing and revising patient‑centered care plans.
  • Implements nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan.
  • Evaluates patient responses to interventions and adjusts care accordingly.
  • Maintains safe and effective nursing care, directly or indirectly.
  • Advocates for the best interests of patients.
  • Communicates and collaborates with patients and the health‑care team.
  • Provides health counseling and teaching.
  • Delegates and assigns nursing interventions to support the care plan.
Essential Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to work the specified shift schedule.
  • Good visual acuity sufficient for performance of job duties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
