Registered Nurse (RN) Float – Med Surg-Step Down-ED

As a member of Hartford Hospital’s Float Pool (STAR Team), you will provide nursing care across multiple units including Med/Surg, Step Down, and ED. You will transition between specialties, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and deliver personalized, compassionate care in a high‑volume acute care environment.

• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care across assigned units.
• Transition between Med/Surg and Step Down units as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.

• Minimum 2 years recent acute care RN experience; critical care experience preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license required prior to start date.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.
