Registered Nurse – RN - IV Therapy

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids.

Day Shift

We are looking for someone to insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other lines, administer and monitor medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments. The RN will collaborate with colleagues, physicians, the healthcare team, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery.

• Insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines.
• Administer medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
• Collaborate with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
• 1 year of experience with PICC line placement/access and de‑access, midlines, port access/de‑access, and placement of peripheral sites.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Certification support available post‑hire.

Full‑time – 32 hours/week – Day Shift.

• 8‑hour shifts, with weekend commitment of four (4) weekend shifts per six (6) week schedule.
• Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
