Job Details- Permanent night shift position within the Stroke Program as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
- Provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population
- Participate in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness
- Engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and health care continuum
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team planning and delivering care for neurology, stroke, and complex disorders affecting blood supply to the brain and spinal cord
- Conditions managed include brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cervical artery dissection, vascular malformations, and other disorders of the nervous system
- Collaborate with neurology attending physicians, rehabilitation teams, nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Receive extensive onboarding and training throughout the entire continuum of stroke care
- Training provided in medication management, neuroradiology, condition-specific physical examination, and treatment planning
- Current APRN license required (post-1994) with certification according to CT state law
- Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program required if appropriate for specialty
- Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred
- Specific experience in specialty may be required
