Job Details- Exciting leadership opportunity for a Manager of Advanced Practice within the Department of Surgery
- Provide leadership to advanced practice providers (APPs) on Thoracic and Plastic Surgery services
- Implement and monitor institutional and departmental goals and objectives for APPs aligned with organizational strategic direction
- Conduct individual performance evaluations for APPs within management area
- Oversee APP scheduling, Kronos payroll, and resource utilization in collaboration with surgical residencies
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for new APPs
- Ensure timely credentialing and re-credentialing (including OPPE/FPPE) in compliance with Medical Staff By-laws and Rules and Regulations
- Clinical responsibilities include managing multiple patients with varied critical illness and first-assisting in the OR
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and interpretation of diagnostic results
- Complete daily progress notes and provide patient/family education and meetings
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday days with 24-hour availability for urgent needs
- Weekend, off-shift, and holiday rotation required with premium differentials offered
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master's program required
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience within Thoracic or Plastic Surgery required
- Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical/nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency in invasive procedures
- Qualified operative first assisting required
