Avera Behavioral Health Center Link, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Position:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends.
Pay Range: $32.50 - $48.50 per hour (actual rate based on experience).
Sign‑on Bonus:
Eligible for up to $18,000 with a 3‑year commitment.
The Link is an extended community triage center located in Sioux Falls that assists individuals experiencing non‑violent behavioral health crises, seeking treatment for substance abuse disorders, or searching for support services. The center connects individuals to critical services that address mental health or substance abuse challenges.
Unit Highlights- Opportunity to collaborate with 20 different staff members.
- Work with a dynamic multidisciplinary team including physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, paramedics, triage technicians, social workers, and behavioral health technicians.
- Participate in a self‑scheduling program.
- Eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program: receive an additional $167 payment each month (up to $10,000).
- Provide nursing care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan, and coordinating with the healthcare team.
- Develop nursing care plans through medical history review, patient examination, documentation of physical and psychological status, and social factors.
- Teach patients and families about care goals, medication use, and self‑care skills.
- Evaluate patient care outcomes and adjust plans as needed.
- Maintain a safe and compliant patient environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication protocols, and controlled‑substance regulations.
- Chart patient care in departmental records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot patient care equipment and supplies, anticipating needs and ordering as necessary.
- Keep nursing competencies up‑to‑date as outlined by leadership.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active license in the state of practice.
- 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
- Ability to work the specified shift schedule.
- Excellent visual acuity and effective communication skills.
