Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Nurse Leader whose leadership style reflects our core values to be accountable for coordinating patient centered care on our 26-private bed Inpatient Rehab Unit. The Inpatient Rehab team will structure care to ensure a personalized care plan to meet each patient’s needs and goals. We will receive patients from within our hospital, as well as referrals from other hospitals, with a focus on stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, other neurological conditions, complex orthopedics, heart, liver and kidney transplants, cardiac disease including patients with ventricular assist device (VAD), post-surgery and patients requiring dialysis.
The Nurse Manager (RN) is responsible for creating a positive and innovative work environment while coaching and mentoring the nursing staff to partner with the interprofessional team as they transition the patient along the rehab phase of care. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the growth and development of staff, including navigating our novice to expert clinical levels and succession planning for future leaders.
In addition, this critical role is accountable for the unit’s quality, regulatory, patient experience and fiscal targets. The Hartford Health Care culture of Lean Daily Management, executed through our daily huddles and embracing our leadership behaviors, provides the Nurse Manager with the tools to encourage the team’s ideas and hardwire standard work in achieving unit goals. This is an innovative leadership opportunity to partner with other rehab team members as an added service to our hospital continuum, all while decreasing readmissions and length of stay to successfully transition patients home.
- Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
* Master's degree preferred. One degree must be in Nursing. - Certification in nursing administration is required within 5 years of assuming position.
- Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated progressive leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
- Exceptions to the educational requirement will be evaluated on an individual basis. For example, a strong candidate in the process of completing the educational requirement will be considered. Continued progress toward completion of the educational requirement within five years will be required.
