About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Diabetes Life Care Center provides holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care for patients and families with diabetes.

This role is ideal for those who are passionate about diabetes management and patient education.

  Per Diem, Day shift

• Provide nursing care for patients/families with diabetes.
• Apply the nursing process within the organization’s Framework for Professional Practice.
• Function as a clinical expert in diabetes.
• Assist with staff education and development.
• Assist with the development of policies and protocols for diabetes care.
• Delegate and supervise work appropriately.
• Report to the Diabetes Life Care Manager.

Education:

• ASN required, BSN preferred

Experience:

• Diabetes/endocrine experience preferred

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current Connecticut RN License
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) preferred, must obtain within 2 years of hire
