Position Summary / Essential Function

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the hourly Quality Inspection team while supporting the overall Quality Management System and manufacturing operations. This role ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and company quality requirements through effective inspection processes, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

The Quality Supervisor works closely with Engineers, Sales, and Production to resolve quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards. This is a hands‑on leadership position requiring strong technical knowledge of inspection methods, root cause analysis, and quality systems within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, schedule, and develop the hourly Quality Inspection team to ensure consistent execution of inspection activities and adherence to quality standards.

Assign daily work priorities and provide technical guidance to inspectors to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Ensure inspection activities are performed accurately using appropriate inspection methods, measuring equipment, and documented procedures.

Support investigations into internal and external quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Partner with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing to resolve production quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Monitor quality performance metrics including nonconforming material, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and first-pass yield, and recommend improvement initiatives.

Verify compliance with AS9100 quality requirements and company procedures throughout manufacturing operations.

Participate in internal quality audits and support external customer and certification audits as required .

Review inspection records, nonconformance reports, and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Assist in developing and maintaining work instructions, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.

Train inspectors on quality standards, inspection techniques, equipment, and best practices.

Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Support new product introductions, process improvements, and manufacturing initiatives as needed.

Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of progressive quality experience within an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment.

Previous experience leading or supervising quality inspectors or production quality personnel.

Strong working knowledge of inspection methods, inspection equipment, blueprint interpretation, and measurement techniques.

Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Working knowledge of quality engineering principles and structured problem‑solving methodologies.

Strong understanding of quality systems, documentation, and manufacturing quality processes.
