Position SummaryThe Server is responsible for serving guests in the Club area. Waitstaff must be personable and able to work in an ever‑changing fast‑paced environment.
The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
This role pays an hourly rate of $16.94 and is tip eligible.

About The VenueThe Peoples Bank Arena is Connecticut’s premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 15,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh‑time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the six‑time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley, the Men's & Women's basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses.
The Peoples Bank Arena is also home to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. The Peoples Bank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice‑skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world‑renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others.
The Peoples Bank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend Club Menu when directing to service a guest event or in setting up guest events.
- Serve table side meals to guests or replenish food to the buffet line if needed.
- Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Check guest’s verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Carry drinks on a tray.
- Record a guest’s order and input them into a POS System.
- Observe guests to respond to any additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed.
- Refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments and napkins.
- Replace tableware and linens as necessary.
- Set up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware, if needed.
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or OVG management staff for the successful outcome of an event or customer service situation.
- Communicate with employees, co‑workers, management staff and guests in a clear, business‑like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Speak, read and write in English.
- Work well in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced, event‑driven environment.
- Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
- Calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as related to cash/credit transactions and cash reconciliation.
- Handle cash accurately and responsibly.
