We're looking for a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team in Connecticut

Trask-Decrow Machinery (TDM) is a growth-oriented company committed to providing a seamless selection of quality industrial pumps, process air solutions, and portable equipment to satisfy virtually any application. Trask-Decrow also provides installation, overhaul, and repair of current and new systems. We service all of New England with regional representatives to provide unmatched customer service and support.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Identify revenue opportunities within customers’ communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed.
  • Generates sales within the company’s established trading partners.
  • Responds to requests from customers for information and give presentations.
  • Prospects for and generates sales with new accounts.
  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on industry trends and market competition.
  • Any other relevant duties that may be assigned.
Education and Experience

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field; 5 years of sales experience and/or equivalent preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent time management skills required, both in and out of the office.
  • Strong desire to serve customers with a positive attitude.
  • High degree of independence, self-motivation and self-direction, especially with regard to identifying and managing high priority projects, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess the ability to think and solve problems with creative understanding. Must have a good eye for detail and be able to suggest process/specification modifications as required.
  • Ability to competently deliver sales presentations.
  • Understand budgeting and forecasting.
  • Understand product line profitability and cost structuring, in order to provide accurate estimates and pricing.
  • Able to work cooperatively with peers to achieve established goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Basic computer and database skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Adobe Acrobat and MS Outlook.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Sitting/working at a desk – up to 80%.
  • Standing – up to 80%.
  • Walking – up to 30%.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. using proper body mechanics (lifting devices utilized for heavier loads).
  • Moderate wrist deviations and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
  • Approximately 1–960 hand or wrist repetitions per day.
  • Frequent use of both hands.
  • Frequent word processing and computer keyboard use.
  • Very accurate near vision (20/20) and accurate far vision (20/40) required.
  • Minimal color discrimination and depth perception required.
  • Ability to hear a whispered voice at 3 feet.
  • Exposure to moderate, steady, and fairly loud noise levels below 85 dB.
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 80–90°F during summer months.
  • May be exposed to slippery work surfaces for up to 3 hours per day.
