Sales Executive

Position Summary

Kamco Supply Corp. of New England is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to grow and manage business throughout Fairfield County and Western Connecticut.

This position is responsible for developing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, prospecting new customers, and growing profitable sales throughout the territory.

We are looking for someone who wants to continue to build a territory, not simply maintain a book of business. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with contractors, owners, estimators, project managers, purchasing professionals, and other industry decision-makers while becoming a trusted resource for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused on profitable growth.
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing Kamco customers.
• Prospect and develop new accounts.
• Re-engage inactive and underpenetrated accounts.
• Maintain a prioritized target-account list and active pipeline of opportunities.
• Conduct regular customer meetings, jobsite visits, project reviews, and prospecting calls.
• Identify upcoming projects and opportunities early in the construction process.
• Grow customer participation across Kamco’s product categories, including drywall, metal framing, insulation, ceilings, firestop, exterior products, and specialty building products.
• Work closely with Kamco’s inside sales, branches, estimating, operations, purchasing, specialty teams, and manufacturer partners.
• Manage opportunities with an understanding of sales, gross profit, pricing, freight, inventory, and overall account profitability.
• Monitor competitive activity and communicate market intelligence internally.
• Provide consistent follow-up and exceptional service to customers.

Qualifications

• Outside sales or business development experience preferred, ideally within building materials, construction, distribution, or a related industry.
• Existing Fairfield County construction industry relationships are strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, competitive, and accountable.
• Comfortable prospecting and developing business from the ground up.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and manufacturer partners.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Fairfield County.
