Lake Compounce - Seasonal Security Screener

Overview

Lake Compounce is seeking seasonal Security Screeners (18+). The role ensures safety by screening guests and maintaining security protocols.

• Operate metal detectors and conduct thorough bag checks.
• Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor during screening.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Assist in emergency situations by following established protocols.
• Address and resolve guest concerns related to security.
• Collaborate with other security hosts for coordinated response.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, checks, and confiscated items.
• Participate in regular training and stay current on protocols.
• Provide customer service assistance (directions, information).
• Uphold park standards of hospitality and ensure a positive experience.
• Complete any other duties assigned by leadership.
• Possess a keen eye for detail, strong problem‑solving skills, and remain calm under pressure.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• College degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline desirable.
• No prior experience required; equivalent work experience considered.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Spanish or other bilingual skills are a plus.

• Flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Reliable transportation to and from shifts.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of security methods and procedures.
• Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with all members of the public.
• Quick analysis of situations and appropriate action.
• Professional calm in stressful situations.
• Collaborate with team, first responders, and emergency personnel.

• Stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of the shift.
• Frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
• Walk on uneven surfaces.
• Carry, push, pull, lift objects up to 30 pounds.
• Good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.

The role is predominantly outdoor with variable weather conditions. Frequent interruptions, noise, flashing lights, and crowded environments are common. Employees may face stressful emergency situations.
