Sr. Security Specialist

What Will You Do

Support all Command Post (CP) functions, including security enforcement, emergency response, dispatch operations, and emergency notifications.

• Monitor fire and HVAC systems, interpret alarm indicators, and coordinate timely response with local police, fire departments, and dispatch operations.
• Perform core Rover duties such as campus and perimeter patrol, building inspections, provide break coverage, and other related tasks.
• Photograph new employees/contractors, create identification cards, and support Global Operations Center call intake, service request processing, and dispatch.
• Provide guidance and informal leadership during routine operations and during medical, fire, security, and other safety-related emergencies, including writing comprehensive incident reports.
• Monitor internal radio channels (HVAC, Electrical, Maintenance, Construction, Safety) to support dispatch coordination of service requests.
• Complete and issue hot work permits, conduct inspections per established processes, and conduct fire watch assignments in designated hot work areas.
• Identify and recommend enhancements to security procedures and operational processes.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in all security system applications, including SIMS, S2, Lenel, CCTV, and related platforms.
• Utilize the Everbridge Notification System for emergency communications, including contact uploads, notifications, and polling as required.
• Secure property as directed and provide security presence at special events, including establishing barricades, operating gates, and directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
• Perform general security system checks and access control duties at high‑traffic exterior posts, perform vehicle or truck inspections, and monitor and enforce campus parking regulations.
• Accurately create work orders, assist in key distribution and tracking, and respond to alarms and incidents within established time frames, including rapid on‑site assessment and coordination.
• Monitor company external and internal phone lines and direct incoming telephone calls as appropriate.

• More than 3 years of security or law enforcement experience.
• Ability to work the 2nd shift (3:00–11:30PM) with Thursday and Friday off, subject to operational needs; no light‑duty status.
• Valid driver’s license in Connecticut and ability to drive and operate company vehicles.
• Pass a pre‑employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen.
• Current CT Guard certification and Command Post certification.
• Knowledge of hot work permit procedures and completion of required training.
• Ability to perform basic computer work using MS Outlook, Word, Smartsheet, and Teams.
• Strong customer service, writing, communication, judgment, decision‑making, leadership, and adaptability skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and work independently with good judgment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree in a related field is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CT Guard certification.
• Must have the flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime as approved.

Southington, CT, USA. The hiring range for this position is $54,000.00 – $72,300.00 per year based on a 40‑hour work week. Compensation may vary by location, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
