About the Role & Team
The Global Security & Safety department ensures the safety, security, and well‑being of all ESPN employees, guests, and assets. We provide security and safety services for all ESPN owned and leased facilities and remote events worldwide.
Responsibilities- Greet, screen, and advise all visitors within established procedures.
- Implement company security and parking policies consistently and fairly.
- Identify and report safety and security hazards and secure property as advised.
- Complete and issue hot work permits.
- Conduct inspections and fire watch assignments per hot work permit processes to preserve safety at ESPN facilities in designated hot work areas.
- Provide appropriate general information to visitors and employees and perform general security system checks.
- Perform access control duties at high traffic exterior posts and vehicle inspections in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform truck inspections for all deliveries arriving on campus according to standard operating procedures.
- Conduct X‑ray package and mail screenings after certification via MSA.
- Supervise fire alarm control panel and interpret alarm indicators for emergency type and location.
- Assess, resolve, and respond within a three‑minute timeframe from the initial alarm.
- Assist with scheduling maintenance for fleet vehicles.
- Respond to medical, fire, security, and other safety‑related emergencies and incidents as trained and write comprehensive reports following established procedures.
- Provide security presence at special events (on or off‑campus).
- Establish barricades, operate gates, and generally direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
- Complete special assignments and assist with Command Post and Global Operations Center duties.
- At least one year of customer service or related experience.
- Must work the 2nd shift (3:00–11:30PM) with Thursday and Friday off, subject to change.
- No light‑duty status.
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s license.
- Pass a pre‑employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and overtime as approved.
- Technical skills including using MS Outlook email and Word.
- Maintain a professional presence in image and interactions at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills and good verbal and writing ability.
- Two or more years of security or law‑enforcement experience.
- Strong leadership, judgment, and decision‑making skills.
- Clear teamwork focus and ability to make effective decisions while performing under pressure.
- Perform tasks independently within established guidelines.
- Operate company transportation.
- Able to take command and diplomatically control difficult situations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- One year or more of work experience in Facilities Management or a similar field handling service requests.
- Proficiency in a secondary language.

CompensationHiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $44,700.00 – $59,800.00 per year. The base pay offered will be based on internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
