Join Our Team as a Commercial HVAC Technician in Hartford, CT! BGIS ITS is seeking a dedicated Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team in Hartford, CT.

Your Role
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance, service requests, repairs, and equipment changeouts.
  • Work with a support team including dispatchers, coordinators, supervisors, and technical resources.
  • Use a fully stocked service van, iPad, iPhone, and necessary PPE.
Primary Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of HVAC experience with demonstrated experience in Commercial HVAC Refrigeration systems.
  • D-1 or D-2 Limited Warm Air, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Journeyperson license required.
  • Position performed remotely; may require travel to client locations for training and other in-person events.
  • Perform work in accordance with established processes and compliance with environmental, health, safety, security, and fire protection requirements.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed.
  • Physical requirements:

    climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs., lift up to 75 lbs., and maneuver in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics.
  • EPA certification required.
  • Willingness to wear PPE.
  • Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
  • Subject to drug, background, and driver’s license checks.
Skills
  • Service and install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Service and install new ice machines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on ice machines and refrigeration.
  • Assess and troubleshoot commercial HVAC to determine required repairs.
  • Inspect and perform equipment repair and replacements.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and recommend preventative repairs.
  • Respond to emergency service requests.
  • Provide observations about facility mechanical conditions and offer recommendations for enhancement and repair.
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related projects.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work on lightweight commercial equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Work with minimal supervision and report to job assignment and work in a timely manner.
  • Experience with industry software preferable but not required.
