Security Systems Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start‑up, and commissioning of state‑of‑the‑art integrated security systems, including CCTV or IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on‑the‑job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing within our team.

Our Security System Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

This position can be hired as a Mid or Senior Level based on directly related experience.

As a Security System Technician, you will:

  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance:
    Run routine reports to review system operation. Participate in final inspection and testing. Support customer acceptance. Assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports. Identify code and non‑conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation.
  • Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination:
    May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start‑up services as needed.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems (Mid)
  • 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems (Senior)
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality, and basic switch, router, and firewall principles
  • Must be willing and able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state‑recognized GED;
    Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
  • Experience with Genetec, Bosch, Milestone, CCure

The pay range for this position is $54,121 - $107,590 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
