Job Description
Perform maintenance and repairs for heating (hot water and steam boilers, pressure vessels), ventilating, air conditioning (cooling towers, chillers, DX units, air compressors), water treatment, humidification and hot water systems with controls (pneumatic and DDC).
Responsibilities- Perform all functions related to air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including servicing and repair of all gas refrigerant systems and integrated piping and hardware.
- Interact with employees, patients, and customers via telephone, written, or verbal work orders.
- Monitor HVAC systems and operations.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance per schedules; check, repair, and replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, coils, tube bundles, pipes, heat exchangers, and other components.
- Read, interpret, and follow mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturer directions for HVAC equipment and boilers.
- Estimate labor and material costs for projects; submit requisitions.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.
- Respond to fire and disaster drills as assigned.
- Attend department/hospital in-service orientation and meetings.
- Maintain ARAMARK and CCMC policies and procedures, including NFPA, EPA, OSHA, JCAHO, and state/local agency requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with refrigerants.
- Minimum S-2 or D-2 license; S-1 preferred.
- Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Training per CFR required annually.
- CT driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Oxy/acetylene welding.
- Johnson Control Systems (Medasys).
Ability:
- Be flexible and adapt to changes in schedule, work assignments, and environment, including working weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
- Display a polite, spirit-of-service attitude toward customers and coworkers.
- Maintain friendly, efficient, and responsive attitude toward clients and their customers/patients while performing job duties.
- Interact with coworkers in a team atmosphere to find better ways to perform work.
- Read blueprints, follow instructions, and use basic math skills.
- Work closely with team members on multiple assignments to meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
- Seek solutions to operational barriers and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Conform to all safety policies and procedures in effect.
