ATS is seeking a NDT Level II Technician with FPI experience per NAS‑410 on Castings to support our Richmond, VA offices. This is a contract assignment lasting 3‑6 months, to be performed in Winstead, CT. Start ASAP with competitive hourly pay, per diem, rental car and flights.
Responsibilities- Perform examinations of materials according to procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods you are qualified in, and exercise OJT and guidance of trainees.
- Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope, priorities and meet customer expectations.
- Prepare written instructions and report examination results.
- Work independently and support team members; perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
- Level II FPI – meet minimum requirements of an NDT Level II PT per NAS‑410; provide documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s).
- Castings inspection experience with FPI.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Additional NDT certificates are a plus but not required.
- Must be able to work in safety‑required environments including heights, confined spaces, around operating equipment, and with hazardous materials.
- Wearing safety equipment as required.
- Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, platforms, man‑baskets, etc.
- Work in confined spaces requiring crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
- Work around operating equipment and industrial environments.
- Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developers.
- Shifts up to 12 h/day, 7 days/week.
- Ability to lift and carry 100 lb.
