Ryder System seeks a Diesel Mechanic Maintenance Technician to keep our transportation fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. In this on-site role, you will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment. You'll complete DOT inspections, document work in maintenance systems, and coordinate closely with operations to reduce downtime. Working in Ryder's safety-first, team-oriented culture, you'll use modern diagnostic tools and gain exposure to advanced fleet and logistics technologies, with opportunities for training, certifications, and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manuals
- Complete scheduled inspections, DOT/compliance checks, and safety-focused repairs
- Document work performed, parts used, and maintain accurate service records in maintenance systems
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations to minimize vehicle downtime and meet service SLAs
- Follow Ryder and OSHA safety standards, housekeeping, and proper use of tools and PPESupport breakdown and emergency roadside repair needs as required
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and drivers about equipment status and repair timelines
Required Skills
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair

- Electrical and electronic troubleshooting
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance
- Use of diagnostic software and scan tools
