Job Overview

We are currently searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs and provide after‑warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Technicians are assigned regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Northeast Technology Center in Windsor Locks, CT.

Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Hartford, CT area. Travel is required.

Scope and Responsibilities
  • Proactively attain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.
  • Train customers on functions of the machines.
  • Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, and parts installed.
  • Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting, indicators, test bars, clamp force meters, gages, etc.
  • Travel is required for assignments, which may involve overnight or multiple‑night stays.
Education / Certification
  • 2‑year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine‑tool assembly.
  • High School Diploma.
Skills
  • 3-7 years of experience in Field Service.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group while completing necessary tasks.
  • Understanding of PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic / pneumatic circuits.
  • General computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive daily basis; heavier lifting in excess of 50 lbs on a periodic basis.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong written and reporting skills.
  • Strong people skills.

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $110,000 based.
