Introduction
The State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Bureau of Information Technology Solutions (BITS) is seeking two Salesforce Developers (Information Technology Analyst
2) to lead the maintenance of legacy applications and development efforts in Salesforce for the Department of Social Services (Micro Apps Team).
- Monday – Friday
- First Shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

The Salesforce Developers will support the maintenance and operations of a newly implemented Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that uses Salesforce and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Connect.
Responsibilities- Translate business requirements into solutions that leverage the Salesforce platform and integrations.
- Design Salesforce solutions following best practices and introducing new technologies as needed.
- Build, configure, and maintain scalable, functional, and maintainable applications.
- Develop end‑to‑end Salesforce solutions—including custom APEX code, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce pages, external integrations, middleware tools (e.g., Mulesoft), and Salesforce APIs.
- Automate business processes using Process Builder, Flow, Workflows, Assignment Rules, and email alerts.
- Assist with effort estimation, resource planning, and schedule development.
- Participate in peer code reviews and unit testing.
- Provide application support by analyzing, replicating, and resolving defects; root‑cause analysis; troubleshoot functional and performance‑related issues.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Six (6) years of experience in IT operations, programming, systems/software development, or a related IT support area.
- One (1) year of that experience must involve installation and support of microcomputer hardware, software, and operating systems; analysis, design, and development of information systems; network hardware and software installation; or related professional IT functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field.
- Experience with Salesforce declarative development (Process Builder, Workflow Rules, Lightning App Builder).
- Experience with Salesforce programming (Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Apex, SOQL, SOSL).
- Experience with Salesforce architecture, APIs, security configuration, sharing rules, and user management.
- Experience with agile development and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, OAuth, SSO, CI/CD).
