Cloudera is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with a strong technical background to manage teams in Santa Clara, California or across North America. The role involves designing, building, and delivering a next‑generation AI and machine learning platform that accelerates machine learning from exploration to production and enables enterprises to create and deploy generative AI applications at scale.

• Work with Product Managers to define product capabilities.
• Understand customer use cases and help them use our products effectively.
• Drive professional growth for team members.
• Identify and address gaps in processes and practices within the team or organization.
• Lead by example to foster a culture of ownership and craftsmanship.
• Provide architectural direction and technical guidance to the team.

• 10+ years of experience building enterprise software and 4+ years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience building enterprise AI infrastructure and deploying production generative AI applications and agents that leverage open‑source foundation models, prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and/or generative AI frameworks such as Lang Chain or Guidance.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Good understanding of engineering best practices.
• Experience with containerization frameworks like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and building systems at scale.
• Ability to drive architecture/design and provide technical direction to the team.
• Self‑driven, motivated, and with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship.

• Experience with data science and machine learning tools (R, Python, Tensor Flow, Spark, MLflow).
• Experience with AI/ML orchestration software (Kubeflow, KServe, Knative).
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCE, Azure).
• Experience using Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hive.
