Job SummaryCloudera is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with a strong technical background to manage teams in Santa Clara, California or across North America. The role involves designing, building, and delivering a next‑generation AI and machine learning platform that accelerates machine learning from exploration to production and enables enterprises to create and deploy generative AI applications at scale.
Key Responsibilities- Work with Product Managers to define product capabilities.
- Understand customer use cases and help them use our products effectively.
- Drive professional growth for team members.
- Identify and address gaps in processes and practices within the team or organization.
- Lead by example to foster a culture of ownership and craftsmanship.
- Provide architectural direction and technical guidance to the team.
- 10+ years of experience building enterprise software and 4+ years of management experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience building enterprise AI infrastructure and deploying production generative AI applications and agents that leverage open‑source foundation models, prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and/or generative AI frameworks such as Lang Chain or Guidance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of engineering best practices.
- Experience with containerization frameworks like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and building systems at scale.
- Ability to drive architecture/design and provide technical direction to the team.
- Self‑driven, motivated, and with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship.
- Experience with data science and machine learning tools (R, Python, Tensor Flow, Spark, MLflow).
- Experience with AI/ML orchestration software (Kubeflow, KServe, Knative).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCE, Azure).
- Experience using Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hive.
