Mainframe Developer with .Net and C#​/ Wethersfield, CT ​/ Hartford , CT (Hybrid), 12+ Month Contract

Hybrid Role – Candidate Must Be Within 100 Miles CT

The agency desires to maintain a hybrid work schedule. Two days per week onsite minimum. Due to the nature of the upcoming work, face-to-face discussions are most productive especially at the beginning of large project planning sessions. Provide general support of licensing applications. Upcoming initiative includes the replat formeing of the mainframe-based licensing system. The candidate must be proficient with mainframe platform skills including CICS, batch analysis, and SOAP web services.

With the licensing system moving to a new platform, necessary skills include .NET development, and web services. Advanced skills developing Restful web services is a primary consideration for this engagement. The project that we are gearing up for is the refactoring of a mainframe application to a modern underlying infrastructure. The candidate will be expected to assist with the transition of the legacy mainframe application from CICS, COBOL, VSam to a.NET

framework, C#, SQL environment.

The ideal candidate:

• will be proficient , C#, and SQL
• must have a strong understanding of CICS, COBOL, VSam to support the legacy system transition
• will additionally have strong skills for developing RESTful API's to support data exchange between various systems

Scope of work:
What does the project / work entail. Include all detailed requirements.

• Assist with major projects including AAMVA-related
• Cross-train in generating web-services used to communicate between in-house and out-of-house applications that may, or may not, also reside on a mainframe
• Become familiar with day-to-day support with the goal of accepting responsibilities such as:
• supporting m/f customer support
• completing requests for ad hoc reporting
• analyzing and enhancing existing CICS and batch code in order to enhance processing or to resolve issues
