Overview
The BDC Receiving Clerk supports the operation by logging all in-coming purchase orders and auditing completed receiving paperwork to ensure accuracy. This role assists inventory to ensure stores are stocked for customers and observes incoming/outgoing merchandise for defects and damage. The Receiving Clerk will contact vendors for packing lists and freight bills as necessary and maintain a comprehensive filing system for completed receiving packets.
The role operates distribution computer systems as required to efficiently control merchandise flow and uses equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load merchandise as needed to assist the Receiving team. Travel is not required for this role.
Responsibilities include logging and auditing receiving paperwork, supporting inventory to maintain stock levels, monitoring merchandise for defects, coordinating with vendors for packing lists and freight bills, maintaining organized filing of receiving packets, and operating distribution computer systems to manage merchandise flow. Assist with unloading, transporting, stocking, and loading merchandise as needed.
What We re Looking For- Must be able to work a set schedule that may be changed/modified by management based on facility needs.
- Availability to work morning, afternoon, nights, or weekends depending on shift, with potential overtime.
- Experience in a distribution/warehouse environment and familiarity with the physical requirements of such work.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds minimum, with the capability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Demonstrated good attendance
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- If internal, no written warnings within the last 6 months or final warnings within the last 12 months
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, transportation, or related field
- Experience in a customer service role
- Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
- Experience in distribution center operations
- Experience with software applications such as Excel, Access, or data management systems (Lowe s DMS preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously with strong prioritization and time management
- Experience with power equipment (e.g., reach truck)
