Warehouse Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will guide, direct, and coach warehouse employees to meet on‑time delivery standards with minimal errors. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, manage personnel changes, address performance and policy compliance, and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.

• Plan and schedule the warehouse team to meet customer demands and achieve warehouse goals at the required level of quality.
• Communicate with staff to ensure smooth flow of information and product; collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to modify and improve efficiency.
• Monitor warehouse processes, proactively identify and address barriers, and perform root‑cause analysis to troubleshoot and problem‑solve.
• Lead, motivate, and direct employees using performance management techniques, coaching, and feedback.
• Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance; foster teamwork and unity among department members.
• Manage the warehouse through the PDCA cycle of the Managing for Daily Improvement program; train employees on Lean practices.
• Maintain the highest safety standards; coordinate with other departments; ensure all company policies are adhered to.
• Approve and deny employee time‑off requests and reviews employee timecards; work with HR for staffing needs and conduct initial interviews.
• Monitor and prioritize shipping and receiving activities to ensure goals and standards are met; support lead program and manage raw materials.

• 1‑year certificate from college or technical school; or related experience and/or training.
• College degree or technical school certificate in business preferred.
• 5 years of related warehouse experience and/or training.
• 2 years of leadership or managing others.
• Experience in a unionized manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of logistics, warehouse processes, quality control, costs, and techniques to maximize distribution.
• Active listening, critical thinking, and monitoring skills.
• Strong written and oral comprehension.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Process control analysis experience.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge (Kaizen, JIT, Kanban, etc.).
• Mathematics knowledge (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics).

Regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear; occasionally sit. Must lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. Operates large equipment and must maintain safe operations.

Works around moving mechanical parts; noise level is loud. May be exposed to dust, heat, cold, wet or humid conditions. Works in office environment using standard office equipment.

Full‑time, exempt position located in Enfield, CT. Pay range: $71,900 – $115,000 per year. No relocation available.
