Job DescriptionHartford High School (VT) is seeking a passionate, dedicated High School Literacy Interventionist to join our educational community for the school year. The Title I Grant-Funded Literacy Interventionist will provide targeted academic support to students who require additional assistance in meeting grade-level expectations in literacy. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, administrators, and families, the interventionist will use assessment data to identify student needs, develop intervention plans, monitor progress, and implement evidence-based instructional strategies in both small group and individual settings.
The position is responsible for helping students build foundational skills, confidence, and independence while supporting the school's overall academic goals and commitment to student success. Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, and organizational skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff, are essential for this role.

- Hold a Bachelor's degree in English, Secondary Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Hold a valid Vermont English or Reading Specialist license (7-12).
- Have experience in teaching reading, writing, and literacy intervention.
- Enthusiastic and student-centered.
- Able to partner with parents, guardians, and administration by maintaining accurate academic records and regularly communicating student progress.
- Able to monitor student growth and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including one-to-one and small group intervention.
- Skilled in fostering a respectful, positive, and inclusive learning environment that responds to students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Committed to working closely with department colleagues, special educators, and support staff to ensure student success.

Salary$47,249 to $99,280 Per Year
