Job Description

The Wilder School is searching for an Alternative Classroom Paraprofessional for our elementary classroom to work in tandem with the Special Educator and classroom counselor. This program is part of a multi-tiered system of support offering an engaging classroom setting for students whose academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs may be different than that of their peers.

Specifically, the person in this position will support students within the classroom setting on social emotional and executive functioning skill development, as well as in access to their academic learning. While the majority of the work will be with a small group of students, there will be opportunity for one-to-one support.

Ongoing training, supervision, and oversight will be provided by the Alternative Classroom team and The Wilder School Principal.

Job Requirements
  • Relevant experience in and demonstrated ability to work with students in an alternative setting or clinical environment. Ability to mentally and physically support staff in student crisis situations
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
